WVUA is following a developing story from McCalla. Tuscaloosa County Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a gravel pit.


31 year old Amanda Ressler was found Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. at the gravel pit on Dream Lake Road. Lieutenant Kip Hart says they believe foul play may be a possibility. Around the time of the discovery, Hart says Ressler's family reported her missing to Hoover Police. ...Read more

TUSCALOOSA -- Authorities gathered at the Easy Money Storefront on McFarland Boulevard to investigate a deadly shooting Saturday night. Witnesses say a suspect went inside the store and shot another man several times, later reports revealed that man has now died. Authorities say this incident was not a robbery.

"There's nothing to indicate this was a robbery," said Sgt. Dale Phillips with the Tuscaloosa Metro Homicide Unit. "It appears that the suspect in this case came here with the intention to confront the victim." ...Read more
