WVUA is following a developing story from McCalla. Tuscaloosa County Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a gravel pit.


31 year old Amanda Ressler was found Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. at the gravel pit on Dream Lake Road. Lieutenant Kip Hart says they believe foul play may be a possibility. Around the time of the discovery, Hart says Ressler's family reported her missing to Hoover Police. ...Read more

Accused Speaker Hubbard Seeks Second Run

Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard, in defiance of his indictment on 23 felony ethics charges, said he would win re-election and also would seek a second term as speaker.

Hubbard was accused of using the speakership and a former post as State Republican Party chairman for financial gain for himself and businesses he has a stake in. Hubbard said the case was a ploy to derail
his political career.

Veterans Memorial Park Receives Donation from Alabama Power for Upgrades

  TUSCALOOSA- There is $75,000
worth of improvements on the way for a local park.

Officials with
Alabama Power gave a grant to the Tuscaloosa County Parks and Recreation Authority
to improve Veterans Memorial Park in front of University Mall.

“It's great to be
able to give back to those who have served our country,” said Vice President of
Alabama Power Mark Crews.

The funds were made
available through the Alabama Power Foundation.
